Update Status Two

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a day or two, but here is the current status with me and living conditions and everything along that sort.

My parents and I have found a home, everything is already set and we plan to move into it tomorrow morning. Sadly, we won't have any Internet until Tuesday. So that will be fun. So nonetheless, hang in there guys I will be back soon.

I will soon work on the HTML and CSS tutorial, I am currently mid way in the second part so for those of who that are following it, that will be released sometime next week. I am also planning to have another game review released around the same time as the second HTML and CSS lesson.

Rant -- Bullying

Considering that I was bullied for about a year, I thought I would shed light on MY opinions on it and what not.

To me, bullying is wrong, stupid, and has no point. I have always wondered what goes through a bully's mind.

Sorrow, strength, happiness, depression, or just what, simply WHAT does a bully think when bullying.

Apparently bullies do not understand what bullying does to a person. Being a victim is horrible, you think differently, you are constantly on guard.

When I was bullied, I was always, fidgety, in a sense. I hated being alone, worrying if the bully was going to find me. 90% of the time, I was always with a friend or a group of friends.

During my time of being a victim I was called a number of things. Such as "gay, fag, racist, homosexual, stupid, dumb" and all of these other horrible names. None of this was true. I was no homosexual what so ever, In a sense I was "dumb/stupid" but just at academic work.

I was called gay for this reason: I was multi cultural. Meaning I listened to music from around the world. I listened to German, Russian, Swahili, Finnish, Sweedish, Gaelic Irish, and so on.

I was called racist because the kid who was bullying me was African American. I told the princible about him, I was called racist because I spoke the truth.

I don't judge by what a person looks like. I don't care if you are white, tan, black, I don't care if you are Atheist, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, I simply don't care. I judge on how a person acts. I judge if they are a harmful person. Meaning that if they are bullying or making fun of someone, I wouldn't want to be around them.

Anyways, that is my rant for today.

Update Status One

For those of who that follow me, this is an update for you lot. Possibly near the end of the week I shall be back in a better state to where I can post more to you guys. So please just keep checking back for more updates. Thanks :D

Lesson -- How To Speak Pig Latin

Welcome to another post ladies and gentlemen! This post is more of an odd blog post by standards. I will be explaining how to speak the language game Pig Latin. Pig Latin is very easy to learn, and is normally used to speak in "secret" around other people. But beware, do not speak Pig Latin around other people a lot, they will start to pick it up quickly.

Oday ouyay antway otay earnlay Igpay Atinlay? -- This is a perfect example of Pig Latin, look at the sentence and see if you can figure out what it says.
The sentence says "Do you want to learn Pig Latin?" To achieve learning Pig Latin this is what you do.

If the word starts with a consonant, you take the first letter of the work and put it to the back, then add "-ay" to it. So battle becomes "attlebay"

If the word starts with a vowel, you add "hay" to the end. So apple, becomes "applehay"
It may take a while for you to get used to the language, but if you have trouble translating Pig Latin, use these resources to help you out.

Send me some sentences in Pig Latin down in the comments, I will do my best to translate and even respond to you back in Pig Latin :)

Lesson -- HTML coding One

                Well, this is the first tutorial that I have posted on this blog so far!
Essentially in this tutorial, I will explain how to make a simple one page website with HTML5 and CSS3. Before we begin, we need to know some things. If you have no bloody idea what HTML is, here is an explanation:

HTML or, hyper text markup-language, is the backbone for all websites. HTML is what creates websites, HTML isn't that hard to grasp, but can be fun at times, or just plain annoying. Now time to start picking our software.

There are many HTML5 and CSS3 editors out there. Such as:

Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 -- $400
TopStyle 4 -- $79.95
BlueGriffon -- Free
Apanta Studio -- Free

Just to name a few :)

Even with these professional software, there are free software, and yes I said free. If you are on a windows computer, you already have notepad, or you can download NotePad++. What is the difference you may ask?
Notepad was not designed for coding at all, so when you type a code, it is just text. If you mess up a syntax, it won't tell you! Notepad++ on the other hand highlights correct syntax. Over all of the programs out there, I reccomend that starters use Notepad++.

Now for this series of lessons, it doesn't matter what program you use, but I will be using Notepad++.

Ready to begin programming in HTML5 and CSS3? Go grab something to drink, dim the lights, crack your knuckles, its on!

Go ahead and open up your text editing program, and type this following code:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<meta charset="utf-8" />
<head>
<title>My First Webpage</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
</head>
<body>
<p>This is my first paragraph</p>
</body>
</html>

I gurantee you are looking at the and thinking "What is this?" I will give you a simple explanation.

<!DOCTYPE html> -- There really is no explanation, just add this to every HTML5 document you do.

<html lang="en"> -- The first part of this code is "html" this is what tells your browser to display the text under it as. The second part is lang="en" this defines that the document is in English.

<meta charset="utf-8"> -- Like I said with <!DOCTYPE html>, just add it.

<head> -- Anything within the head tags is what needs to be loaded first.

<title> -- Self explanatory really, anything in the title tag is what will be displayed in the tab on your browser.

<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" /> -- Alright, link rel="Stylesheet" defines what this part of code is. href="style.css" this is very important "style.css" will be our "formal wear" for our website, we will go into more into detail later.

<body> -- Anything in THIS section will be shown as text

<p> -- This defines a paragraph.

Now let us save the file as a HTML document. Go to File>Save as,
In the drop down menu select "All files" and save the file as index.html. Open that file in your browser. As you can see, it is not much. But in the next lesson we will cover how to give that website some clothing :D

Game Review -- Mount & Blade

Mount and Blade is a medieval single player action role playing game developed by TaleWorlds and published by Paradox Interactive. Mount and Blade is set it in the fictional country of Calradia, during your time playing, you can choose to fight as a mercenary, assume the role of  a bandit, or become neutral.

     Like a lot of other games, on start up, you can choose the past of your character and how he/she looks. In M&B there is literally no end to the game unless you capture every settlement and town on the very large map.

     The combat in the game was very enjoyable, you could ride on horseback and cut down enemies units as you ride past, or take up as an archer and snipe from miles behind, or even take up as a footman and cut down every last bandit you see.

     Sadly, you cannot buy the game in stores, but you can purchase it from the TaleWorlds website at $15 or you can buy it from Steam store at the same price.

    If you look up the game yourself, you can see that the ratings are fantastic, but if you are into RPG's, simulation, and indie games, this game is worth the money. I have put over 100 hours into the game and overall I give the game a rating of 9.0/10.

This is an example of the graphics ingame.

Lesson -- How to Have Your Website Hosted

It is rather simple to have your website hosted. Meaning if it through premium web hosting services, or even free web hosting. And yes, I said free. On the internet there are literally hundreds of websites that claim they are #1. Before you go and pay money for your website to be hosted, wait and use a free web hosting service. Unless you are absolutely sure that you will generate revenue from your website, don't do it.

     FREE WEB HOSTS

There are multiple free web hosting services, here are a few

000WebHost -- My personal favorite
Here is a complete list of both free and premium web hosting services:

I hope I helped in some shape or form, thanks for reading.

Good references for learning HTML5 and CSS3

     As of now, I don't really have any good thoughts to place tutorials myself, but below are great references for links to learn HTML5 and CSS3

W3Schools (Opens in a new window) -- This is where I first started to learn HTML5, a very very great place to begin any web related programming language.

Smashing Design (Opens in a new window) -- This tutorial in particular is rather interesting and some what difficult to do, but worth it.

24Ways (Opens in a new window) -- This tutorial shows you how to make a form layout with HTML5 and CSS3

Alright that is currently all the references for now.

Rambling -- Religion

Before I even begin this post, please read this post at your own consent. What I am about to say is MY opinions. If there is a debate in the comments, I may or may not let it continue. You have been warned......

My view on religion is simple: Religion is pointless. After a long time of thinking, I have finally considered myself as an Atheist-Agnostic. Now please note, for those who do NOT know what an Atheist/Agnostic is, this is what they are.

Atheist -- An Atheist is a person who does not believe in a god nor gods. (This does not mean an Atheist is a Devil Worshiper, a person who worships the devil is a Satanist.)

This is how I personally believe the universe came to be. And yes, this may seem either odd, impossible, or just plain stupid to some. I believe the world/universe/us came to be through Science and evolution.

For me to believe in their to be a God, I would have to see scientific and reasonable evidence. And if there was a God, why would you believe in THAT god? There are the Roman gods, the Greek gods, the Native American gods (cannot remember the correct term, sorry), and so many other branches of gods, why would you believe in one and not another.

This is my view on religion, share your comments down below, give me your thoughts. Have a good day

Rambling -- About me

My name is Nicholas and this is literally my corner of the web. In my last post, I explained what you would expect on this website, so here is the first literal piece of content.

Me

I am thirteen years old, and I am consider myself many things. I am personally fluent in one set of programming languages, and that is HTML5 and CSS3. For those of who, don't know what HTML5 and CSS3 is, well it is basically the backbone of creating a website. Creating a website from scratch is simple as can be for most. I personally learnt HTML5 and CSS3 in about 2 hours, but even to this day I am still learning tricks, and going even more advanced in HTML5.

Basically in the last paragraph, for those of who can guess what I want my career to be, kudos! :P
I personally want to be a Web Developer if possible. To me coding in html, is like reading a book or playing a game. It can be very fun, and it can make you tear your hair out.

My past

This subject is sensitive to me. But I will talk about it considering that all of you will read more from me. So I personally believe you deserve to hear it. When I was younger, I moved around a lot. Transfered to many different schools and this continued for quite a while. Finally in, early 2011, I moved back to the town of Austin, Indiana. I was looking forward to meeting up with my old friends, and looking forward for making new ones.
It wasn't what I thought it was.
During my time there, I met up with close friends of mine, and even made some new ones. There was this one kid, named, well I don't want to release any names, so I will just name him "Bob".
Bob essentially just started picking on me in a sense. I brushed it off thinking it was just going to stop, I was completely wrong.
After awhile it just got worse and worse. Finally to the point that he brought in his friends. From day to day, his friends and him kept calling me names, such as "queer, fag, gay, faggot, homosexual, stupid" and other names. I could spend an hour saying each name. Just after awhile it got to me.
For months on end I went to the principle and the councilor. They kept saying the would do something. All they did was talk to him and nothing was ever resolved. Finally in late November-December-ish, the police got involved. The exact stuff I really won't say, but it was basically on the lines of bullying and harassment. Everything stopped. I was fine over Christmas break, came back to school in January, everything was fine for a month or two.
The same kid and his friends started back up again. This time it only lasted for a few weeks. The police were involved AGAIN and everything stopped. Since "Bob" was African-American, the school played the race card, and he was suspended for three days and returned. But by the time he came back, I was transfered to another school ten miles away.

Well I guess that this wraps it up for this blog. Please note that I do not want sympathy because I was bullied. Thousands of kids worldwide get bullied every day.

First Post here

This is basically my first post to this blog and I plan to do as much updating as I can. This blog will basically hold random thoughts I say, or random ramblings. That or coding/programming tips,tricks, and tutorials.
